About Us
Olivia’s Edit is run by Olivia, based in Shoreditch, London.
Contact: olivia@oliviasedit.com
These terms apply to all orders placed through oliviasedit.com or directly with us. Please read them before ordering. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Orders & Payments
All prices are listed in GBP (£). Delivery costs and any additional charges, such as express production, will be shown before you pay.
Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. If a price on our website is clearly wrong, we’ll contact you before going ahead and you may cancel.
Bespoke orders require a 50% deposit before work begins. The deposit covers design time and the sourcing of stones and materials. The remaining balance is due before collection or dispatch.
Quotes are valid for 30 days. Because gold and platinum prices change, quotes may be updated after this period. Once your deposit is paid, the price is fixed unless you change the design.
Any changes to the agreed design or materials may affect the final price and completion date. We will not make changes without your agreement.
The balance must be paid within the timeframe agreed with you when your piece is ready. If it remains unpaid and we’re unable to reach you, we may sell the piece. We’ll keep the amount needed to cover our costs and refund any remainder.
Bespoke & Made to Order Jewellery
Each bespoke piece is made to your specifications. Once a design has been approved and production has begun, changes may not be possible. No changes can be made once stones have been set.
Because bespoke and personalised pieces are made specifically for you, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply to them. If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll refund what you’ve paid minus the costs we have reasonably incurred, such as stones purchased and work completed, and we’ll give you an itemised breakdown.
Ready-Made Pieces – Your Right to Cancel
If you buy a ready-made (non-bespoke) piece online, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason. To cancel, email olivia@oliviasedit.com with your order number. Then return the piece, unworn and in its original packaging, within 14 days of cancelling.
We’ll refund you within 14 days of receiving the piece back, including standard delivery costs. You are responsible for return postage, and we recommend an insured, tracked service. We may reduce the refund if the piece has been worn or damaged beyond what is needed to inspect it.
Production Times
Bespoke pieces typically take 8 weeks from design approval. Express production may be available on request for an additional fee, which we’ll confirm before you commit. If we expect a delay, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.
Your Own Stones & Metals
We’re happy to work with stones or gold you supply, such as heirloom pieces. Please note:
- We don’t value stones or verify that they’re genuine.
- Some stones, particularly emeralds, opals and stones with existing chips or inclusions, can be damaged during setting even with great care. We’ll discuss any risk with you first. We can’t accept liability for damage caused by a stone’s natural condition.
- Recycled gold may need topping up, and the final colour or carat may differ from the original.
- Please make sure items you give us are insured. While in our care, our liability is limited to the value agreed in writing when you hand them over.
Natural Variation
Each piece is handmade and every stone is unique. Colour, size and finish may vary slightly from photos, samples or other pieces. This is part of what makes your piece individual and isn’t a fault.
Ring Sizing
Please make sure the ring size you give us is correct. Our Ring Sizing page can help.
Solid gold and platinum engagement rings include one complimentary resize within 12 months of purchase, by up to 2 sizes. Some designs, such as eternity bands, can’t be resized, and we’ll tell you at the time of order.
Returns, Faulty Items & Your Legal Rights
Bespoke and personalised pieces can’t be returned for a change of mind. If there’s an issue with your piece, contact us and we’ll put it right. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, your jewellery must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If it isn’t, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund depending on the fault and when it appears. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
Resizing & Aftercare
Complimentary polishing is available for all Olivia’s Edit engagement rings in gold, platinum and silver at our Shoreditch studio, by appointment. Email olivia@oliviasedit.com to book.
Please visit the Aftercare page for more information.
Lost Stones
If a stone becomes loose, stop wearing the piece and contact us. We’ll secure it promptly.
If a stone is lost within 3 months of purchase, we’ll replace it free of charge. After that, replacement stones are charged at cost. This doesn’t apply where the loss is caused by impact, bent claws, or repairs or alterations by another jeweller.
Warranty
All jewellery comes with a 12-month warranty from the date of collection or delivery, covering manufacturing defects. This warranty is in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, not instead of them.
The warranty doesn’t cover general wear and tear, accidental damage, loss, improper care, or work carried out by another jeweller. Loose stones will be assessed individually to determine whether the issue is due to a manufacturing defect.
To make a claim, email olivia@oliviasedit.com with your order number and photos of the issue.
Hallmarking
All pieces above the legal weight thresholds are independently hallmarked by a UK Assay Office in line with the Hallmarking Act 1973.
Delivery
All jewellery is carefully packaged and sent using an insured, signed-for service. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times will be confirmed before purchase. Responsibility for the piece passes to you once it has been delivered. If a delivery fails or a parcel is lost in transit, contact us and we’ll resolve it with the carrier.
Designs & Photos
Our designs remain our intellectual property. We love sharing finished pieces on our website and social media. If you’d prefer we didn’t share yours, just let us know.
Our Liability
We’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.
We’re not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. If this happens, we’ll keep you informed and agree next steps with you.
Complaints
If you’re unhappy with anything, please email olivia@oliviasedit.com and we’ll aim to respond within 5 working days. We are not currently a member of an alternative dispute resolution scheme.
Privacy
We use your personal information only to process your order and provide aftercare. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Changes & Law
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in place when you placed your order will apply. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
