How to care
Ring Care
Thank you for choosing Olivia's Edit.
Each piece is handcrafted using solid precious metals and carefully selected stones, designed to be worn, loved and passed down.
Cleaning
Regular cleaning is the easiest way to keep your piece looking its best.
For routine care, use with warm water with a small drop of Fairy Liquid, then gently clean using a toothbrush (ideally electric).
For textured rings and pieces with stones, an ultrasonic cleaner can be a great way to remove build up and restore shine. Any basic ultrasonic cleaner will do the job well.
Everyday Wear
Your jewellery is designed for everyday wear, but removing it during activities will reduce tarnishing.
We recommend removing your jewellery when:
- Exercising
- Lifting weights
- Gardening
- Using harsh cleaning products
- Swimming in chlorinated water
Annual Maintenance
Over time, everyday wear can soften textures and create small surface marks. To keep your piece looking its best, I recommend a professional clean and polish approximately once a year - two years.
If your peice has prongs please keep a close eye on there stablity they ideally need checking every 2-3 years.
I offer complimentary polishing and inspections on all Olivia's Edit pieces, helping to ensure stones remain secure and your metal shiny.
Resizing
If your ring doesn't feel quite right, don't worry. Resizing is very common and can usually be arranged with ease. Get in touch and I'll be happy to help.
White Gold Clients
White gold is finished with a rhodium plating, which gives it its bright white appearance. Over time, this plating will naturally wear through everyday wear, and you may notice the metal becoming slightly warmer or more golden in tone. This is completely normal. If this happens, simply get in touch and I can arrange for your piece to be professionally re rhodium plated, restoring its original finish and keeping it looking its best
Future Upgrades & Redesigns
Jewellery often marks different chapters in life.
Whether you'd like to upgrade your stone, remodel an existing piece, or create something entirely new using your current jewellery, I'd be happy to help. Many pieces can be redesigned or reworked while preserving their sentimental value.
If you ever have any questions about caring for your piece, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
